PROPOSED DELIVERY TEAM
The team that is involved in delivering this programme has extensive and deep experiences in evaluating and delivering programs in terms of leadership, management, strategic planning and organisational improvement/excellence across the private and public sector in many parts of the world – including extensively in Higher Education within the Gulf and MENA regions.
Brief biographies are provided below. Professor Zahir Irani is the Dean of the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences and former Head of Brunel Business School, Brunel University London. He has had a meteoric rise from being one of the youngest full Professors in the UK, at the age of 31. He then went on to lead one of the world’s leading departments of information systems and computing before becoming a Dean of the Brunel Business School a few years later. His leader-ship skills have crafted a progressive Business School where he helps others achieve their leadership and management potential. He has consulted for a number of public and private sector organisations, which range from UK Government Departments through to work for SHELL petroleum and BMW. His work has taken him overseas where he has undertaken assignments in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Dubai, Australia and Canada. He has a PhD, MPhil and BEng (Hons), and has also successfully completed the High Potential Leaders Programme at Harvard Business School, USA.
Professor Amir M. Sharif is Acting Head of Brunel Business School and Professor of Operations Management. Formerly the Director of MBA Programmes in the School, and a past industry practitioner for well over 10 years, Amir has principally been involved with the implementation of strategic and operational programmes for a range of multinational organisations across fields as diverse as Investment Banking, Defence, Information Technology, Industrial Products and the Public Sector. As a result, Amir has expert knowledge in business process re-design, performance, operations and supply chain management and information systems strategy. Amir has extensive leadership and management development experience via the delivery of MBA and Executive Education programmes and is also the founding Director of the Operations and Supply Chain Systems (OASIS) research group in the School.
Professor Ashley Braganza is Head of the Department of Economics and Finance and Professor of Organisational Transformation. His research and consultancy interests encompass change management, strategy implementation, process and knowledge management and transformation enabled information systems. He has published over 100 papers in prestigious academic and practitioner journals and 3 books. He is the Director of nexus – The Knowledge Exchange. He is the Founder and Chair of the British Academy of Management Special Interest Group in Transformation, Change and Development. He has carried out over 50 consultancy assignments with large global organisations.
Mr John Aston is a financial specialist within the Business School. He has worked extensively in both the public and private sectors and is a Chartered Accountant, who also holds an MBA from Henley Management School. He has worked as both the Financial Director and Assistant Secretary to the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. John continues to provide financial insight to large and small companies and corporates and also continues to teach accounting on the Brunel MBA.
Dr. Savita Kumra is a Senior Lecturer at Brunel Business School. Savita completed her doctorate at Cranfield School of Management where she is a Visiting Fellow in the School of Management. Savita has held academic posts at Oxford Brookes University, Keele University, University of Buckingham and University of Greenwich. Savita is a committee member of the BAM Special Interest Group on Gender in Management, and on the Editorial Board of Gender in Management: An International Journal. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Savita’s key research interests focus on diversity, the gendered nature of the career development process in the professional services and the importance of developing and deploying key career enhancement strategies, e.g. impression management, and building and leveraging social capital. Savita teaches Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has contributed to a number of executive programmes for clients such as the Asian Development Bank, International Power, CERN, Standard Chartered Bank, Asian Development Bank, Clifford Chance, Northern Ireland Staff Commission and Tesco.
Mr. Jon Twomey has over 30 years of commercial experience holding various sales roles before becoming a marketing trainer and consultant providing solutions to the commercial and academic sectors. He specialises in developing and delivering marketing and emarketing planning courses for clients and colleagues and has developed a number of original frameworks. Jon is also a Chartered Marketer (PGDip), qualified trainer (PGCE) and skilled workshop facilitator. He is responsible for training trainers and delivering Marketing Excellence Training programmes with global pharmaceutical clients and companies such as British Telecom and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, (CIM).Jon also regularly delivers sessions on Strategic Marketing and associated general management skills within Brunel Business School.
